Winter Market at Attleboro Farms to Go Year-Round

Winter Market organizers Greg Aubin and David Scanlan announced that due to the success of the Winter Market at Attleboro Farms they have decided to continue the market year round. “Clearly the last several weeks have shown us the demand for local food,” said Aubin, “We plan on continuing the market as long as the people keep coming.” There will be a change of day for the spring as garden center business picks up quite a bit then. The Spring Market will move to Thursdays from 3 to 7 pm beginning April 1st running through June 24th. “The garden center is very strong April through June, so we needed to move the market to a time where it would be convenient for both the customers and vendors,” according to Scanlan, “Thursday afternoon and evening looked to be a good time for everyone.” July will see the return to Sundays for the rest of the year, the Summer/Fall Market will kickoff on Sunday July 4th at 12 noon to 4 pm through October 31st.

With over half of the Winter Market vendors signed on for new markets, it is expected that customers will see their favorite vendors in the months to come. “There will be signs at each table letting the customers know who has signed on so far, so if your favorite has yet to commit, you might want to let them know you would like them to keep coming to market,” said Scanlan, “One of the best parts of the market is the direct connection to the producers, they appreciate the feedback.” Greg and David expect more vendors to join the market as the season progresses, “As word continues to spread about the success of the market more farmers and producers will want to come on board, which will only add to the variety offered.”

A year round schedule will also see more special events and activities at the market, customers will see demos for gardening and food as well as other planned activities.
“We expect to do Earth Day in a big way,” said Greg, “It’s the holiday for sustainability.”
Cactus Attacks, the house band is expected to continue in their role as the house band.
The market will continue to look for new vendors, entertainment and educational activities to enhance the market experience. For more info contact: David Scanlan at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or 508-409-1534.
